The incident took place in Greenwich around 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 25 on Holly Hill Lane.
According to Greenwich Police Lt. Patrick Smyth, police responded after receiving a call of two men holding down a third man and yelling for someone to call 911.
When police arrived, they found that the man being held down, Danny Collazo, age 48, of the Bronx, New York, had entered the home and removed items worth more than $2,300, Smyth said.
When the homeowner arrived, Collazo tried to flee, and "brandished" a knife, and made several threatening movements, he added.
The two men, who were not identified, were able to eventually detain Collazo until police arrived.
When searched, police also discovered several folds of suspected heroin and a straw, Smyth said.
He was charged with:
- Robbery
- Burglary
- Larceny
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Breach of peace
Collazo was held on a $250,000 bond which he could not make, police said. He is being held in state custody.
